Alexis Wadworth
Region: Central Southland
Alexis and her husband Nick farm an 8,000 SU sheep and beef property in Central Southland, where they are raising their young family. Prior to farming, she spent nine years in rural banking, including regional leadership. She is a founding member and current co-chair of the Makarewa Headwaters Catchment Group and has been involved with Thriving Southland since its inception, joining its board in 2024.
Alexis is committed to the role farmer-led catchment groups play in sustainable rural progress by connecting farmers, science, and communities to deliver practical outcomes. Elected to the Catchment Communities Aotearoa board in 2025, she is focused on sharing Southland’s progress, learning from other regions, and advocating nationally to strengthen and demonstrate the impact of catchment groups.
